Four Tops

February 4, 2019

I've gotten sloppy with writing and pure drive to write emails. It doesn't help that we climbed a mountain called Montserrat today with no food or water until we got back down to ground level and reasonably-priced beverages.

It was a lot of fun, but now I have difficulty swallowing, my eyes are heavy, and the base of my skull is throbbing. I need a gym and a more open exercise regimen STAT. This whole "mission" thing tends to wear you down in various spheres. Good thing it's the work of God! If it wasn't, the chances of me being out here would be just a smidge lower ;)

Anywho, the week! We had a week alright.

Monday: We went to a science museum. I like science museums. It had robot and lunar mission exhibitions which were quite entertaining.

There is also an entire section made to be a Amazonian Rainforest. It was humid, there was a capybara (I now want a capybara), various big fish, some birds, those cool little leaf-cutter ants, and even simulated rain.

The museum and travel time ended up burning through a lot of the day, but it was a fun experience. Especially for only 2.50€. Of course, the main exhibition area was closed down in preparation for a new exhibit--hence the discount--but the "side shows" were good enough for me. In the evening we met with a couple named Monica and Luis and Monica's daughter, Angie. We taught the Plan of Salvation and it went really well. They are very interested in learning more and will be able to come to church this week.

Tuesday: Not too much occurred. We worked in Villanova in the morning, then in Villafranca for the evening. We visited a recent convert named Alejandro, had another lesson with another recent convert named Alba, then helped a JAS member out with her mission papers.

Wednesday: We got up, got ready, and took a train into Barcelona to meet up with the zone so the ZLs could introduce the "zone vision". We all joined up, took a metro to the Barcelona stadium, then hiked to the top of a hill overlooking the city. It was a good meeting but the wind kinda got in the way. It really messed up my hair.

I ran out of time. Highlights! We started up a Church-run English course called English Connect and the first night was a big success.

That's about it. I'm getting to know the members poco a poco, and still trying to figure out the area. It's difficult when you are going to multiple places throughout the week.

Have a good one now, ya hear?

Elder Jensen :)
