Midnight Train to Georgia

November 19, 2018

Better said, "7:40 Train to Barcelona" because that's the train that Elder Otero is taking tomorrow! That was not planned nor was it expected, but we received a call from President Galli on Friday morning telling us about the change-up. Elder Benedict will be coming in tomorrow to take Elder Otero's place.

But anyway! This was a good week. We were able to stay relatively busy the whole time.

We didn't have much going on Monday, but we had a good visit with Rosmery (that's how she spells it) and we helped her with English and taught a good lesson.

I have no time because we had a Thanksgiving zone activity today, so I'm just going to give a rundown of our teaching visits of the week.

Tuesday: Met with Ruben but worked on helping him practice his English. His English is actually pretty good

Wednesday: Taught Alejandra about family history and got her set up with the Hetzels to get started. Later on, we taught Philippe and got started with teaching the commandments.

Thursday: Some people failed on us and then we met with Ruben again where we started going over the lessons with him again, but in English to help with his pronunciation (we're using one of the MTC Spanish books that does a side-by-side basic teaching of the lessons in both languages).

Friday: No teaching visits, but we helped put together the baptismal font in preparation for the baptism of the kid of a member in the branch.

Saturday: Once again, no teaching visits, but all went well with the baptism and Philippe came.

Sunday: Met with a Jamaican man named Nicholas who we hope to keep visiting. Had a FHE with Philippe in the Hetzels' where we finished teaching the commandments.

Things are going well with Rubén and we should have his baptism this week. Philippe is for sure getting baptized next week. He's been having a lot of really good spiritual experiences lately. I'm excited for both of them.

Elder Jensen :)
